KingMP: What was the hardest part of your journey to win the KoG title? Did you feel pre-hand that there would be any obsticles in the way? Perhaps someone that might of been able to cut you short of your BCST and KoG win?
Kiryu111: As or hardest part - hard to tell, BCST tourneys always are interesting with that first part of the tourney is unpredictable, due to the single duel rules. And to enter finals of BCST is always very hard, alot of competition. Every duel was kinda like an obsticle. Especially once finals started. As for who was able to cut me - each match in BCST finals is pretty much even matchup, and each round didnt have predictable ending. Also the fact that right before finals new cards was added to KCVDS, made all even more complicated. Duelists had to adapt to new decks, new strategies, and new posibilites.
KingMP: Being the first to win the BCST entry to the finals, you were considered a "favorite" to win the whole thing. Was there any point in the tournament that you felt a particular round would have been your last? In other words, which match did you feel to be the closest and most difficult?
Kiryu111: There was only 1 opponent that I didn't want to face in the finals, but even before I got in there I knew he will also be in finals, and that duelist was ITC (Itachi The Criminal). I have the upmost respect for that duelist, and my biggest fear was to face him in the finals. We both would have done much to win BCST, and there wouldn't be a way back, and as all we know - losing in finals hurts the most. As for final rounds, first opponent was DAD, we duel a lot, and i wasn't too concerned about the duel. Second opponent was Ballin, which I didn't know what to expect because we never got the chance to duel before in a long time, but it all tourned out good. The hardest match was definately the final match against Flaker and his Machina Gadgets deck. iIt was the first time I faced that deck, so it was tricky.
KingMP: As you said your biggest fear was to face ITC in the finals. Now we know that you guys have a great relationship, and are best friends, we also know that you guys have the upmost respect for eachother as duelists and people, and I'm guessing you know eachother quite well as people and duelists. But my question is, what were you afraid about facing ITC in finals? Was it the fact that you thought he could win, or perhaps for other reasons?
Kiryu111: I could have lost to anyone, so that wasn't it. The thing is playing ITC, you never know what to expect. His decks and deck ideas are nor from this world, he thinks in a different manner. ITC is a hard opponent to read, he is tricky and I never know what to expect from him. But ITC is a different type of duelist, he is definately one of the people who doesn't fit in the regular frame of duelists.
KingMP: Making it past all the competition and diversity of the BCST finals, through all those members that wanted it and had the will power to go as far as they could for the shot of KoG title. We know you faced Niptaker for the KoG title, is there anything you would like to say about the match? Outcome, competition, decks, etc?
Kiryu111: I wanted the duels of KoG to be done ASAP, and I kinda tried to rush Niptaker to duel me. The duel had special rules, not only best of 5, but also new ban list, and we both sent our deck screenshots to Ballin1521 before the duel so no one could cheat with side decking. Niptaker was always a tricky opponent, I guess for me especially. We had all that principle fight ever since he joined DAD academy. Many duelist considered him the best, and many considered me. So that duel was kinda less for title and more for principle, to truly see who is the better duelist. Luckily though, I had nice hands and draws in all duels, so i won the match 3-0.
KingMP: How does it feel to be KoG of DAD academy?
Kiryu111: Nothing special about it, ofcourse its nice to have the title. I guess it kind of gives some recognition or something. But best thing for me is that DAD title is now to a member of DLK. I care about my team a lot, and want to do whatever i can to make a better name of it.
