Most people probably won't be surprised that I know alot about fairy types. In this Article, I will talk about various fairy-type monsters and cards that make good combos with those fairy-type monsters. When most people use fairy types, they automaticly assume your using a counter-fairy deck, even though fairy decks are far more powerfull than just a counter-fairy deck. Some of the cards mentioned on this article are not avalible on KCVDS 1.15, and without Valhalla as a card, some of the moves in this deck won't work as well as it should.

Field Spell - The Sanctuary in the Sky
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Battle Damage to the controller of a Fairy-Type monster from a battle involving that Fairy-Type monster becomes 0.

This use of this card negates any damage you would take in battle. This card can be very usefull when using cards like "Shining Angel" who are special summoned in attack position.

Effect Monster - Zeradias, Herald of Heaven
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]You can discard this card to the Graveyard to add 1 "The Sanctuary in the Sky" from your Deck to your hand. If this card is on the field but "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is not on the field, destroy this card.

"Zeradias, Herald of Heaven" completely does away with the need for "Terraforming". Not only can Zeradias use the same effect as Terraforming for getting "The Sanctuary in the Sky", but also places an extra Fairy-Type monster in your grave. In a fairy deck, it is good to have many Fariy-types in the graveyard as possible. An advantage of using Fairy-Type monsters is that you can discard some of them from your hand to use the same effect as most popular spell/trap cards. This makes great use for cards such as "Pot of Avarice". The following are other monster cards that simulate the same effect as a spell/trap card.

Effect Monster - Herald of Purple Light
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Send this card and 1 other Fairy-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard to activate this effect. Negate the activation of your opponent's Trap Card and destroy it. This effect can be activated during either player's turn.

Effect Monster - Herald of Green Light
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Send this card and 1 other Fairy-Type monster from you hand to the Graveyard to activate this effect. Negate the activation of your opponent's Spell Card and destroy it. This effect can be activated during either player's turn.

Effect Monster - Herald of Orange Light
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]You can send this card and 1 other Fairy-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation of an effect of an Effect Monster your opponent controls, and destroy it. You can activate this effect during either player's turn.

Effect Monster - Hecatrice
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]You can discard this card to the Graveyard to add 1 "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" from your Deck to your hand.

Effect Monster - Honest
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]During your Main Phase, you can return this card from the field to its owner's hand. During either player's Damage Step, when a face-up LIGHT monster you control battles, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to have that monster gain ATK equal to the ATK of the opponent's monster it is battling, until the End Phase.

All the above monster cards can be used to replace spell/trap cards in your deck. When building a Fairy-type deck using the above cards, it would be best to include most of the above monsters into your spell/trap count when trying to have half and half on monsters and spell/trap cards.

Herald of Purple Light and Herald of Green Light can be used like dark bribe, Herald of Orange Light can replace Divine Wraith. Honent can completly destroy 1 monster, like how Sakuretsu Armor can, excpet your opponent will take damage, and that 1 fairy-type monster will be too powerfull to be attacked again for that turn.

Both Hecatrice and Zeradias search your deck for either "The Sanctuary in the Sky" or "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen"

Continuous Spell - Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Once per turn, if you control no monsters, you can Special Summon 1 Fairy-Type monster from your hand.

This spell will allow you to special summon any monster from your hand when your field is clear of monsters. This can allow you to swarm your cards, even play your more powerfull cards, such as "Neo-Parshath - the Sky Paladin" The best thing about this card it that you can use it's eff after you have summoned, as long as that monster is no longer on the field. Chaining "Torrential Tribute" to your own special summon, then special summon a stronger fairy type. This is without even conducting your normal summon.

Continuous Trap - Miraculous Descent
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Select 1 of your Fairy-Type monsters that is removed from play and Special Summon it. When this card is removed from the field, destroy that monster. When the monster is destroyed, destroy this card.

In the game, one of the worse things that can happen when you summon a really strong monster is the activation of "Bottomless Trap Hole". With this card, BTH is no longer a major threat, expecially if Valhalla is on the field. If you get BTHed on a summon, you can special summon a different monster from Valhalla's effect, as well as activate Miraculous Descent after the summon. You can special summon other monsters in your graveyard by removing them from play by special summoning "Soul of Purity and Light".

Effect Monster - Shining Angel
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]When this card is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, you can Special Summon 1 LIGHT monster with an ATK of 1500 or less in face-up Attack Position from your Deck. Then shuffle your Deck.

Effect Monster - Nova Summoner
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 LIGHT Fairy-Type monster with 1500 or less ATK from the Deck. If "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field, you can Special Summon 1 "Airknight Parshath" instead.

These two cards are the main swarm cards in your deck. With "Sanctuary in the Sky" on the field, you can block up to 6 attacks with these two. The amount of times cards can block your opponent can increase if "Pot of Avarice" is played while your sixth Shining Angel/Nova Summoner is on the field. A real easy way to turn "Pot of Avarice" into a replica of "Pot of Greed" is by using, what I call, the berserker tactic, in which you attack a stronger monster, then every monster special summoned also attacks that monster, untill you have 5 Shining Angels/Nova Summoners in your grave. Also, these cards can special summon "Marshmallon", "The Agent of Force - Mars", or, if Nova Summoner, "Airknight Parshath" Using the berserker method can get an easy special summon of Airknight but attacking with Shining Angel, then by Nova Summoner. The Berserker method usually only works with fairy decks, due to the fact that all the damage is negated by sanctuary in the sky. The best monster to use the berserker method on is "Chainsaw Insect"

Effect Monster - Airknight Parshath
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]When this card attacks with an ATK higher than the DEF of your opponent's Defense Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, draw 1 card from your Deck.

Effect Monster - Tethys, Goddess of Light
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]When you draw a Fairy-Type monster(s), you can reveal 1 of those monsters to draw 1 more card.

Effect Monster - Bountiful Artemis
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]While this card is face-up on the field, draw 1 card from your Deck each time a Counter Trap Card is activated.

Effect Monster - Majestic Mech - Senku
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]If this card attacks your opponent's Life Points directly, draw 1 card from your Deck. This card is sent to the Graveyard during the End Phase of the turn it was Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or Special Summoned.

Effect Monster - Skelengel
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]FLIP: Draw 1 card from your Deck.

Effect Monster - The Agent of Wisdom - Mercury
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]When you have no cards in your hand during your opponent's End Phase, draw 1 card from your Deck during your next Standby Phase.

These are only a sample of the cards that are able to draw cards from your deck. The best 2 to add to your deck are "Tethys, Goddess of Light" and "Airknight Parshath". Tethys can quickly be special summoned by Valhalla and Airknight can be by Nova Summoner. With these cards, you are almost guarenteed the chance to draw 3-4+ cards a turn. When Airknight does damage, you draw 1 card, and when you draw a card (Draw-Phase included) you can draw and additional card if it was a fairy type monster. The chance of drawing a fairy-type monster is more than 50% if you replaced spell/trap cards with monster cards (as mentioned above with Zeradias, Herald of Green/Purple/Orange Light, Honest, and Hecatrice). An ideal fairy deck will have around 65+% monsters. Also, with a continued use of Pot of Avarice Spam, you can increase that chance even more by further watering down your deck with fairy-type monster. Therefore, everytime you draw a card with Tethys on the field, expect to draw 1-2 more. A good card to add to the card draw power is "Card Trader", allowing a new chance to draw a Fairy-type every turn. Also, adding "Solemn Wishes" to your deck can really increase your LP Gain by 1500+LP a turn. Having a High amount of LP can really help you out when using, "The Agent of Force - Mars", "The Agent of Judgment - Saturn", "Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin", ect.

Effect Monster - The Agent of Force - Mars
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This card is unaffected by any Spell Cards. If there is "The Sanctuary in the Sky" on your side of the field, and your Life Points are higher than your opponentís Life Points, increase the ATK and DEF of this card by the difference between your and your opponentís Life Points.

Effect Monster - The Agent of Judgment - Saturn
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]If your Life Points are higher than your opponent's Life Points, activate this card's effect by offering this card as a Tribute from your side of the field. Inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the difference between your and your opponent's Life Points. If "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is not on your side of the field, this effect is not applied. When you activate this effect, you cannot conduct your Battle Phase this turn.

Effect Monster - Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]You can Special Summon this card by Tributing 1 "Airknight Parshath". During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, draw 1 card. While "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field and your Life Points are higher than your opponent's, this card gains ATK and DEF equal to the difference in Life Points.

With the LP gain from Solem Wishes, based on the card drawing ability of this deck, you can have 20,000, or even 30,000 LP. This make a pretty powerfull punch for any of these 3 cards. An easy OTK deck is to use "Celestial Transformation" on Saturn. Her original ATK becoming 1200 means you can use "Infernal Reckless Summon". Being able to activate 3 Saturn's in one turn can destroy your opponent if your LP is only slightly higer.

In the begining of the duel, you may not have that much LP over your opponent. The Agent of Force - Mars will not be that powerful in the beginning of the duel. Luckaly, such cards as "Aegis of Gaia" exist. Aegis of Gaia is a trap card that will increase your LP by 3000. A very useful card to activate when Mars is attacked. Activating Royal Decree after the effect of Aegis Gaia has resolved will allow you to negate the damage you take when Aegis of Gaia leaves the field. Because of the fact that Mars is immune to Spell Cards, you can lock your opponent down with that Royal Decree. The only problem with royal decree is that an't activate a trap to negate a spell card that destroys Sanctuary in the Sky, which reduses Mars ATK and DEF back to 0 and allows you to take damage. This problem is avoided by the effect of Herald of Green Light being able to negate spells for you. With Herald of Green Light, Sanctuary in the Sky, Mars with a High ATK, and Royal Decree, you will have your opponet about as locked down as Jinzo + Horus combo.
